# WooCommerce speed checklist (afternoon pass)

A practical pass you can finish in one sitting before you install another plugin.

## 1. Measure first
- Capture mobile LCP / INP / CLS on a product page and the cart.
- Note TTFB separately from front-end weight.

## 2. Template budget
- Give each template (home, catalog, product, cart, checkout) a short plugin budget.
- Disable anything that does not earn its keep on that template.

## 3. Images and scripts
- Serve WebP/AVIF where possible; lazy-load below the fold.
- Defer non-critical JS; avoid duplicate analytics tags.

## 4. Caching layers
- Page cache for anonymous traffic; object cache for repeated queries.
- Purge carefully after catalog or theme changes.

## 5. Recheck
- Re-run the same URLs after changes.
- Keep a short changelog so regressions are easy to spot.
